    Thanks for sharing this vital info. Most of us business owners have no idea how to market our BUSINESSES’S in any medium. This was very helpful to keep us from wasting our money marketing in ways that don’t work and in teaching how to properly market. I have sent out direct mail to previous clients using your newsletter and we had record sales October, November 2014. Thanks so much. We are going to be using targeted mailings for commercial businesses in January 2015 using your mailers.

    hello Guys, I just watched the episode 010 and it was amazing! The reason I saw the podcast was because I got the postcard in the mail about the podcast 010 and mentioned the new book by Joseph Sugarman and joe polish. I think that this podcast reveals some very interesting things about direct mail that I have never heard of or thought of but are some great ideas! I don’t know why this site is all capital letters (tried my keyboard but no luck there), anyway, these are some great ideas that I would like to implement on my next direct marketing campaign. I need to go back and listen to the other podcasts as there is gold there that I forgot about and need to listen to to help grow my business. Thanks Joe and everyone!

    i just wanted to leave a few comments about the rich cleaner.com/10 podcast. what i particularly enjoyed about this was the different ways you can use every door direct mail. apparently you can buy the carrier route but you can also buy the individual names on the route as well. also you can personalize your message to the individual list. thank you for taking the time to do this. oh yes, i am also supposed to mention i saw the postcard which was mailed to us to qualify for the “psychological triggers book by joe sugarman.

    Hi Joe and Joel, I got the postcard and have just listened to the episode. Really awesome. I am in the elite cleaners group and used Jon’s company once and it was an incredibly smooth experience.

    So after listening to the podcast i realized that i did not do what is so obvious, and that is to just keep scheduling his company to send out more! So back to the trenches with more great info from you guys. Thanks!

    By the way, I love both this podcast and “I love marketing”. I have a daily commute of about 50 minutes each way and I can no longer listen to music! Just your podcasts.

    very informative and educational !!!! The comment in podcast 010 about losing letters was hilarious !!!!!!!!!! Direct Mail and EDDm are excellent tools for growing a business. mine is a startup business so everything you offer for free is very much appreciated and I can only hope to return some of what you have given at some future point.     I just listened to episode 010 and thought that it was a great call.

    what I got most out of the call was the consistency of mailings that it takes when marketing to new areas and the idea that you gave to bill Philips about capturing and utilizing the testimonials he had received and mailing those as a stand alone marketing piece.

    That was brilliant in that you don’t even have to think about what to say as far as copy goes, because someone else is already saying it for you!

  • Hey guys don’t know why am typing all in caps but i got the postcard and listened to the podcast. i enjoyed the history part of the podcast and how things haven’t really changed in getting the customers but it is easier to be more personal with the eddm piece that you decide to send out.

    can’t wait for the next episode!

    Got your postcard and listened to episode #10. Great stuff. The part i liked best was at the very beginning where you reminded us that there is little to no activity in people’s mailboxes today, so we can dominate that media easily if we chose to. and It was good to hear your reminders about personalizing our mailings and mailing 2 to 3 reminders. It’s not good to leave millions of dollars on the table by only mailing once!

    guys i want to let you know that i appreciate what you do for my company.
    i would probably have been out of business along time ago if not for joe,
    but i just started my 26th year in business last october. last year was not
    so good but i kinda let my marketing slide. this plane is ready to fly in 2015.
    gonna get back in the air with first this eddm and then some of the other
    strategies that you taught me.

    I too enjoyed this episode. i had a question on the part of the episode where joel talks about the headline that’s been very successful – the one that says its thorough drys fast and stays clean longer… or its FREE! I just want to be clear that since we are piranha clients and part of the elite cleaners group that we can just take this headline as is and put it on all our marketing pieces. I was just concerned about copy right issues with piranha or if another company in our town is already using the same headline or similar. This sounds very obvious but i wanted to be sure. Thanks so much.

    Wow!!! this was such an awesome, amazing episode for me and my business. Joel, you answered so many questions I had about applying these marketing strategies to get me real actual results. I mean you believe it when you see it right. but I had faith in previous testimonials that these strategies applied right really do work. I’ve done some of these and I have seen results but we are going for the gold this year. No messing around. I wrote a whole list from this one episode for the rest of this year. Today I did the first bullet point of this lesson – I called my 20 percent clients over the phone today about how we could better improve their experience with our company. And only 2 out of our top 35 clients said just a couple of spots missed (we of course gave them the free traffic cleaning no obligation to make up for the mistakes). But everyone else loved our work. I never called my clients like this before but wow… so amazing. We just called to ask how we can make their experience better. that was it. nothing else. But doing so we connected with a client who told us to book him for march ($300.00 job) and he is a real estate broker and is recommending us to other brokers:) This just took me 60 min of my time on my database and on the phone and I have already made $300.00 on the front end.:)

    I got your post card in the mail about listening to this podcast. I am glad I listened to it. Yet another awesome podcast with great info. I always learn something new from you. You made me think a lot to hit those points in the direct mail piece that will make people respond. I constantly listen to everything you put out and your I love marketing podcasts too. I am like a sponge when I listen to you. I take notes and then I put them into action. your tips and strategies are very effective. Keep up the great work!!
